Diners at Settlers Bar and Restaurant will enjoy a casual relaxed atmosphere in the casual dining space of the restaurant where they will find themselves sleekly ensconced in a richly decorated and refined dining room that has a distinct air of faded grandeur combined with lush furnishings. 

Two magnificent chandeliers provide the sparkling centrepiece to the room, which is enhanced by soaring ceilings with intricate plasterwork above and the warm glow of aged native hardwood floors below, laid in 1882.

The Hotel's famed Bar has been lovingly refurbished into a separate and comfortable space where locals and guests alike can pull a chair up to the grand antique oak table or gather around one of the wine barrels in front of the cosy fire. Some guests prefer to dine in this area.

The Bar menu is distinctly different yet shares the same food philosophy – 'smart dishes' that allow fresh flavours to shine through and speak for themselves. A superb wine cellar pays homage to the area's well deserved reputation as one of New Zealand's leading wine regions with a varied selection that includes handcrafted Martinborough pinot noirs and outstanding sauvignon blanc.

The Label Room

The Label Room is the fine dining option at Peppers Martinborough Hotel. Located on the ground floor of the hotel overlooking the gardens, this exclusive dining room boasts a host of elegant details guaranteed to delight with tables clothed in crisp white linen and fine glassware. The Label Room accommodates up to 28 guests and is a showcase of Martinborough wine.

The restaurant takes its name from the many wine labels featured around the walls in picture frames. One of the main features of the restaurant is a huge wine rack, full of almost 500 wine bottles from local winemakers.

Settlers Bar and Restaurant serves sumptuous food and wine that is purely European in flavour and reflective of the seasonal produce of the Wairarapa region.
